What we do
  • Help you to get closer to your goals by looking first at where you are in relation to where you want to be and then determining the most efficient and sustainable route to get you there.
  • Encourage you to explore the ‘why’ that’s motivating you to use our services, so that we can better understand how to move you forwards.
  • Create and maintain open channels of communication, so that any input from either side can be factored into the coaching process.
  • Encourage experimentation, even to the point of making mistakes. We believe that learning what doesn’t work for us as individuals is critical in determining what does.
  • Help you to step outside of your comfort zone to encourage growth and learning opportunities.
  • Regularly review your progress and evaluate the strategy used to get you there.
  • Provide open and honest feedback on thought processes, behaviour language and habits, with a view to improving your progress.
  • Share our experiences, either personal or of working with other clients, that provide potentially important insights into your current circumstances.
  • Focus on progress, not perfection. We want you to enjoy the process of coaching. If you’re working towards improving, we’re ok.
  • Provide a non-judgemental environment that leaves you free to make your mistakes and allows us the opportunity to help you learn from them.
  • Ask you questions that need to be answered, without shying away from uncomfortable situations.
  • Assist you in setting goals and determining the action steps required to get you moving towards their fulfilment.
  • Patiently understand that exercise and nutrition are unlikely to be the centre of your universe and do our best to recognise your perspective.
  • Focus on providing options to keep you on track where possible and get you back on track when required.
  • Encourage you to become accountable for your own actions and the resulting progress.
  • Advise you of any additional resources or strategies that may be helpful in removing obstacles to your progress.
  • Continually evaluate and amend our strategies as required to keep you progressing.
  • Focus on your long-term health, well-being and success. We’re more concerned with you feeling and looking amazing for the rest of your life than for the next eight weeks.
  • Maintain confidentiality, always.
  • Refer you to the appropriate specialists when your care requires an approach outside of our professional scope of practice.
What we don't do
  • Hold you accountable for every action you take, that’s your job.
  • Take the responsibility for changes or outcomes, that’s your job too.
  • Make any ‘good’ or ‘bad’ judgement regarding your actions or behaviours.
  • Berate, badger or bludgeon you into compliance.
  • Encourage you to strive for perfection or think in binary terms (black or white, good or bad).
  • Make any moral decisions on your behalf.
  • Provide professional therapy or counselling services.
  • Avoid painful, awkward or difficult conversations or situations.
  • Read minds.
  • Make assumptions about your needs or wishes.
  • Provide a perfect solution for every problem you encounter.
  • Offer medical or legal advice.
  • Promote ‘one right way’. The principles of exercise and nutrition are fixed and relatively unchanging, the methods will vary significantly depending on the individual. Our job is to help you refine your method.
  • Always have ‘the’ answer. But we will try our best to get you one if we can.
  • Hold ourselves up as role models of anything. We are our own people and we have no desire to force our opinions or preferences on anyone.
  • Fix anyone. You’re not broken.
  • Expect instant changes or immediate results. Lasting change takes time to develop.
  • Make ourselves available to you 24/7. We have lives and families of our own. We'll get back to you as quickly as we reasonably can and do our best to accommodate any changes you encounter.
